Connect Mixer AI to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Connect Mixer AI to your assistant, with practical steps for authentication, file uploads and payment approval when something does not work.

Connect in three steps

  1. Choose a client below and add a remote MCP server named mixerai.
  2. Enter the server address, sign in through OAuth and authorize your Mixer AI account. No API key is needed.
  3. In a new chat, ask the assistant to list Mixer AI tools. Review the quoted price and approve it before a paid generation.

Connecting does not start a generation or spend coins.

ChatGPT

Open Plugins, click + → Add custom MCP server. Name the plugin Mixer AI, paste the server URL above and choose OAuth.

Acknowledge the connection warning and create the plugin. Sign in through Mixer AI, install the plugin, and start a new chat with @Mixer AI.

Creating a custom MCP plugin depends on your plan, account role and workspace permissions. Ask your workspace administrator if the option is missing.

Claude

Open the custom connector form. Enter Mixer AI and the server URL manually when the fields are empty; automatic prefilling is not guaranteed.

Complete OAuth in the browser. Enable Mixer AI for the conversation using + → Connectors.

Claude Free supports one custom connector. In Team and Enterprise organizations, an owner or authorized administrator must add the connector first.

Run the three terminal commands in order. Finish OAuth sign-in in the browser when prompted.

Alternatively, open /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Authenticate for mixerai.

Use one-click installation or paste this configuration into ~/.cursor/mcp.json for your user, or .cursor/mcp.json for the project.

Open Settings → MCP, select mixerai and complete OAuth. type=http specifies the remote HTTP transport.

Run the three commands in a Codex terminal. Keep the mixerai alias unchanged.

Complete the sign-in in your browser. You can also configure this server in ~/.codex/config.toml.

Other MCP clients

Use a client supporting remote Streamable HTTP and OAuth. Add the server address at the top of this page under the alias mixerai and sign in with your browser.

If the client cannot display an embedded app, use the text tool responses and browser links instead.

Troubleshooting

ChatGPT does not show Add custom MCP server. What now?

The account plan, role and workspace must permit custom MCP plugins. In organizations, an administrator manages this permission. The option appears only where this capability is allowed.

OAuth redirects to another browser or says Needs authentication.

Finish sign-in using the same client and browser profile used to begin setup. For CLI clients, repeat the login command from their section above. Never paste access tokens manually.

New tools do not appear after a server update.

In ChatGPT, open the plugin settings and use Refresh tools, if your role provides that control. For other clients, reconnect the server or start a new session. Server changes take effect only after deployment.

I attached a file to the chat but Mixer AI cannot see it.

Chat attachments do not automatically deliver file bytes to a remote MCP server. Use an available client file import or Mixer AI browser upload page. Photos can be up to 30 MiB; video/audio up to 100 MiB. A model may impose stricter format or size limits. Unattached uploads last up to 24 hours; Canvas media is retained for 50 days.

Claude file upload fails with 403 or a network error.

If the upload uses Claude code execution, check Settings → Capabilities → Code execution and file creation → Allow network egress, or ask your organization about network policies. This setting affects code execution network access, not the regular OAuth connector. Otherwise use the browser upload page.

Can the assistant spend coins without my approval?

Mixer AI shows the model and exact price before a paid action. A single generation needs approval in the app/site or an unambiguous answer such as “I agree” to that price question. A bare “yes” is insufficient. Batches and Canvas actions have separate approval flows.

How do I revoke an app completely?

Open your Mixer AI profile → Connected apps → Disconnect beside the app. Disconnecting inside ChatGPT alone does not revoke its server-side grant.
